Ponte Vedra Beach is in St. John's County as part of the greater Jacksonville metropolitan service area (MSA). It is an unincorporated seaside community located 18 miles southeast of downtown Jacksonville (in DUVAL County) and approximately 20 miles north of St Augustine (also St.Johns County). The school system in St Johns County was ranked #1 for the state in 2009. There are over 81 unique subdivisions in the Ponte Vedra Beach area including single family homes and condos. Best known for its fanatastic golf and luxury oceanfront areas, Ponte Vedra is an upmarket commmunity with a population of about 26,850 residents.
